Sashiko Sampler Shippo Tsunagi (7 Treasures) NO 203
The sewing lines on this Sashiko sampler are clearly marked on the fabric and will wash out after you have completed the stitching. Since the design is only printed on one half of the sampler, the other half is usually used as backing, for a pillow or another project.
Hana-Fukin literally means little kitchen towel. It is common in Japan stitching through both layers of the fabric. After hemming, the Sashiko samplers make great looking tea towels or table decorations, e.g. Place mats.
As well as turning this Sashiko sampler into a functional cloth, you can also sew it into a bag; cushion cover or even table cloths or place mats.
Sashiko is an easy over-under running stitch. A great take along project and no hoop needed.
Sashiko Threads and Needles are available in our store separately.
