This Olympus sashiko needle is very strong. It has oval shaped large eye on one end for easy threading of thick sashiko threads. The other end has a very sharp point.

This package contains 1 needle only. It is about 48mm long.

Compared to the 2-needle-pack (also by Olympus) in our shop, this needle’s eye is larger and shaft of needle is thicker.

It is good for very thick threads and relatively open woven fabric. Especially designs with curved lines – the relatively short length allows needle to move more easier.

If you are like me, taking sashiko as a mindful practice and tend to stitch slow; or your fabric is relatively tight woven; or your design has a lot of curves and your thread isn’t too thick, then Bohin sashiko needles may be a better choice for you 🙂
